1995 IND NYK Game 5 (10 of 10)

Reggie, Reggie, Reggie!!!!

If you are Knick fan then you who know this person is....yes the infamous Reggie Miller. The Indiana Pacer Knick fans through the years have loved to hate. Everyone looked forward for the Knicks vs Bulls playoffs, however Knicks vs the Hicks (Indiana) seemed to invoke more of heated a rivalry. Even though the matchups always went the distance and New York seemed to have their number. Through the headbut by John Starks, taunting back and forth by Spike Lee, and numerous hard and flagrant fouls Miller seemed to love it all. The thrill of beating the Knicks was Reggie's mission every season. They were in chase of the NBA Title as well, however it was going to be a battle to the end on who would be the victor. May 21, 1995 with a missed finger roll by Knicks team captain Patrick Ewing, Reggie Miller finally beat his nemesis. A day Knick fans would love to forget.

The Good Old Days of the NBA

Ahhh yes, the good old days of no blood no foul, no lay up and dunk rules, handchecking and your occasional fight. That was how the NBA was in the 90's, players played the game but it was more enjoyable to watch. Teams played with a hunger and desire to win, the NBA wasn't viewed so much as a business but for teams that used grit and talent to win games.

Will King James lead us to the Promised Land?

Cleveland looks to be on the verge of falling short of completing their quest of winning an NBA Title. With the Boston Celtics ahead 3-2 in a Game 7 series and Game 6 being played in Boston, all signs seem to point to James coming to New York. James is from Ohio and would want nothing more than to bring a title to Cleveland however, his window of that happening is closing rapidly. The addition of Shaquille O'neal and Antawn Jamison were the pieces that should have completed a cast that would land them in the NBA Finals and land them a title. However, it looks as if James might need to consider where he'll call home in the upcoming NBA season. Will it be New York, Chicago, Miami or Cleveland? New York Knicks fans hope it will be Madison Square Garden, "The World's most famous arena."

The Last Superstar

Patrick Ewing the Superstar the Knicks possessed who almost brought them to NBA Salvation. Knicks fans lived and died with his promises of bring the franchise a Championship. Many of those promises came close but fell short every year, for the 15 years when he was a Knick. They are many "What if" scenarios that can be thought of. If Michael Jordan wasn't in the league at the time, or if Ewing had a second go to player if that would have brought them over the hump? We can all sit here and imagine and think what could have happened but the same problem still remains, the Knicks have not won a title in 37 years. Will we be the next Who Dat team like the New Orleans Saints? What is the missing ingredient?

The Championship Days

37 years ago the New York Knicks won their last NBA Championship. New York has been in a drought since then without an NBA Title. The Patrick Ewing Era from the mid-eighties to the early 2000's brought us many great rivalries and playoff appearances. With notable rivals such as Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls, Reggie Miller of the Indiana Pacers and who could forget the first fights and bench clearing brawls with the Miami Heat. Since trading Patrick Ewing on September 21, 2000 the Knicks have only made two NBA Playoffs and have not advanced out of the first round.
